Tranmere story

Dave Philpotts is an English former defender who played for Tranmere Rovers in the 1970s and later returned to the club after a spell in the United States. He was part of the Rovers side promoted in 1975–76.

Philpotts played for New York United and Carolina Lightnin’ in the American Soccer League. After retiring as a player, he joined Tranmere’s coaching staff and later returned to Prenton Park as chief scout.
